DUES TIME AGAIN
Annual dues are currently due which includes local, state and national dues. The cost is $48 and can be paid at the September meeting or you can mail them to: SCV Camp 469, 76 Plantation Drive, Rome, Georgia 30165.
DUES SNAFU FROM NATIONAL
Camp members recently received their membership dues notice from the State office and promptly paid what they assumed was the correct amount. Unfortunately the total ($42) did not include your Camp 469 dues of an additional $6. This trifling amount is what we try to use each year to cover the cost of postage of your newsletter and an occasional wreath for our Confederate Memorial Service, the Gen Nathan B Forrest service, or when a camp member passes. If you were one of the many camp members who submitted a check for $42 for dues please send an additional $6 to Adjutant Stephen Carnes at the above address.
FINANCE & FUND RAISING COMMITTEE MEETING
A meeting of the Finance and Fund Raising Committee will be held prior to the regular meeting on September 3rd beginning at 6pm. We have a number of decisions to make and several fund raising options to explore. If you would like to serve on this committee please make plans to attend. Current members are Chairman Stephen Carnes, Merroll Smith, Gary Roseman, John Harrison, Brian Byrd, Daniel Fisher. Last month the committee discussed the possibility of moving the camps checking account for better record keeping purposes. After much discussion the committee also voted to suspend the camps financial support of T-shirt sales at the Coosa Valley Fair and the Redneck Rummage Sale. Other fund raising options were discussed and the committee will resume exploring other venues at the September meeting. Your input and participation is welcome.

The next group of officers will have the responsibility of doing the lions share of the ground work leading up to the camp hosting the Georgia SCV Reunion in 2011. If you would like to serve on the nomination committee or be considered for a position as a camp officer please make plans to attend the September meeting.
