NEXT MEETING
The next camp meeting will be held Thursday, September 1, 2005 at the library beginning at 7 p.m.
Our speaker will be camp member Gary Worthen. Gary will speak on his gggrandfather, Cpl. B.F. Moody. Please come and listen to the story of Cpl. Moody.
LAST ROLL CALL
Long time camp member, Dr. Venable crossed over the river on August 5th. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers. He will truly be missed.
CAMP WEBSITE
If you haven’t checked out the Camp 469 website lately please do so. Recently the webmaster has added photo’s from the Relay for Life and Sardis Church Memorial service. Log on to www.scvcamp469.com . Compared to other camp websites ours is definitely the best.
ANNUAL CAMP DUES
It is time to pay your annual camp dues. The new year began on August 1st and national, state and camp dues are needed. The total is $38.00.
Please make checks payable to Camp 469 and send payment to Camp 469, 76 Plantation Drive, Rome, GA 30165. You may also pay your annual dues at the camp meeting and save the cost of a stamp.
As a reminder as a camp member you receive a subscription to the Georgia Confederate Newspaper, the Confederate Veteran Magazine and the camp newsletter. All are great sources of information regarding our quest to honor confederate ancestors.

BIKE RIDE FUNDRAISER
Logistics are about finalized for the planned motorcycle fund raiser scheduled for September 10th. The ride will begin in Kingston at 10:30 and end at the Battle of Tunnel Hill Reenactment.
Volunteers will be needed to assist with signing up the riders and sell of camp merchandise. Please arrive at the Kingston City Park at 9 am to lend a hand with this project. Contact David Rigney (770) 974 – 9317 or Don Adams for more information.
HERITAGE HOLIDAYS
Please make plans to participate in the many activities of Heritage Holidays. Plans call for a major involvement by Camp 469 during the holiday celebration.
Among the activities planned is a living history at Ft. Norton and a Confederate Ball at the Forrest Hotel in downtown Rome. The 8th Regiment Band will provide the music and Tim Key will serve as dance master.
COOSA VALLEY FAIR
Tentative plans are being made for the camp to participate in the Coosa Valley Fair held the first full week of October. Volunteers will be needed to assist in selling camp merchandise, and recruiting new members.
