NEXT MEETING

The next camp meeting will be held Thursday, February 2, 2006 at the library beginning at 7 p.m.

The Rome Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will present the program.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS

Just a reminder to pick up your membership cards at the next meeting. See Adjutant Stephen Carnes for your card.

WELCOME NEW MEMBER

Please welcome Brad Davidson into the Camp. Brad is from Rockmart and very active in the Cherokee Artillery. Brad will be an asset to the Camp.

PRAYER LIST

Please keep Camp 469 member Johnny Locklear and his family in your prayers. He had a serious tractor accident on Nov 13th and is still in Floyd ICU. His wife Jan says that he is slowly recovering, but still has a lot of healing and rehab to go. Visitors are encouraged during normal visiting hours.

RELIC SHOW

Camp 469 will participate in the Chickamauga Southern National Civil War Show and Sale on Feb 4th and 5th at the NW Georgia Trade and Convention Center (exit 333) in Dalton.

This is one of the largest shows in the Southeast featuring Civil War relics and book dealers from around the country.

Camp 469 will also be on site selling our wares and promoting the SCV. This is an excellent opportunity for the Camp to raise some needed funds. Volunteers are also needed to man the tables both days. Contact Commander Durden for more info.

RELAY FOR LIFE

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life is scheduled for April 7th and 8th and Camp 469 will again be participating. Last year, on short notice, the Camp raised $400 and made a great impression on the community at the event. Details will be provided at the next meeting and everyone is encouraged to participate in the charitable cause.
