    The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 469 has ongoing programs which offer members a wide range of activities. Preservation work, marking Confederate soldiers' graves, Confederate Memorial Services, Living Histories, scholarly publications, and regular meetings to discuss the military and political history of the War Between the States are only a few of the activities sponsored by Camp 469. Mark your calendar now for the following upcoming events:

 

January 3 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
January 19 Lee-Jackson Dinner, 7:00 at the Senior Center. The center is located on Riverside Parkway. This is a covered dish, family affair so members, their family and friends are invited. SCV Past Georgia First Brigade Commander John Culpepper will be the guest speaker.
February 2 & 3 Chickamauga Civil War Relic Show, Dalton, Ga
February 7 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
March 6 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
March 8 At 2:00 at Blue Pond Baptist Church, Morrison Campground Road, Pastor John Weaver will speak on the Religious Revival that swept the Camp of the Army of Northern Virginia during the Civil War. March 16 Adopt-A-Highway clean-up on Highway 20 west of Rome between mile markers 11 & 12 at 2:00. Parking at intersection of Highway 20 and Barker Road at site of the old Rice Farm.
April 3 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
April 5 National Park Clean -Up Day at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Rome, 8 to 11 AM with local high schools participating.
April 13 Adopt-A-Highway clean-up on Highway 20 west of Rome between mile markers 11 & 12 at 2:00. Parking at QuickMart and Woods Rd
April 20 Confederate Memorial Day Service, 3:00, Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Rome, GA
May 1 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
May 16 thru 18 Battle of Resaca, Resaca, Ga
May 26 Memorial Day Parade, Rome, Ga
June 5 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM. Main speaker to be SCV Field Representative Jack Marlar who will talk on The Big Guns.
June 15 Second clean-up on Highway 20 West of Rome. Parking will be at the convenience store located at the corner of Highway 20 and Woods Rd
July 3 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM. Main speaker to be Stan Rogers, head of City of Rome cemeteries who will give a PowerPoint presentation on the various people buried at Myrtle Hill Cemetery who had something to do with the Civil War.
July 13 Gen Nathan B Forrest Birthday Celebration at 2:00 at Silver Creek United Methodist Church. This is a covered dish affair and the public is invited.
July 20 State Reunion Committee meeting to be held at 2:00 at the GA Army National Guard Armory on Wilshire Road, lower building. All Camp members are urged to attend
August 7 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM. Main speaker to be Larry Stephens who will speak on the Alabama 30th Infantry
August 16 Adopt-A-Highway clean-up on Highway 20 west of Rome between mile markers 11 & 12 at 8:00 AM. Parking at corner of Highway 20 and Barker Rd
September 4 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM. Main speaker will be Camp member Wayne Shelly who will give a presentation on oddities found at and around grave sites of Confederate soldiers. Members will be encouraged to participate.
September 19 thru 21 Battle of Chickamauga (New event). To be held in Kennsington
Sep 29 through Oct 4 Camp will be setting up a table, selling and recruiting at the Coosa Valley Fair 
October 2 Camp 469 will enter a float and participate in the Rome Christmas Parade
October 2 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM.  Main speaker to be Past Commander Alan Youngblood who will speak on the disinterment and reburial of the Confederate soldier found alongside Highway 20 west of Rome in 1991
November 6 Camp meeting, Senior Center, Riverside Parkway, 7:00
December 4 Camp meeting and President Jefferson Davis Memorial Celebration at the Riverside Parkway Senior Center, 7:00 PM. Covered dish supper. 2009 officers to be voted in. Main speaker will be Charles Kelly Barrow, Commander of the Army of Tennessee
