    The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 469 has ongoing programs which offer members a wide range of activities. Preservation work, marking Confederate soldiers' graves, Confederate Memorial Services, Living Histories, scholarly publications, and regular meetings to discuss the military and political history of the War Between the States are only a few of the activities sponsored by Camp 469. Mark your calendars now for the following upcoming events:

 

January 4 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
January 19 A parade has been scheduled in Atlanta in honor of the bicentennial birthday of General Robert E. Lee beginning at 3 p.m. The march will end at the state capital
January 20 Lee-Jackson Dinner, 7:00 at the Senior Center beginning at 7 p.m. The center is located on Riverside Parkway. This is a covered dish, family affair so members, their family and friends are invited. Georgia SCV Commander Charlie Lott will be the guest speaker.
February 1 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
February 3 & 4 Chickamauga Southern National Civil War Show and Sale at the NW Georgia Trade and Convention Center in Dalton. Volunteers will be needed to assist with our booth on both days.
March 1 Camp meeting, 7:00 at the Senior Center beginning at 7 p.m. The center is located on Riverside Parkway
March 4 Confederate Flag Day
March 23 Reenactment of the Battle of Bridgeport, Al
April 5 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
April 7 Installing display in front window of Rome Area History Museum in conjunction with Confederate History Month
April 21 Participation in and camping out for Relay for Life, Ridge Ferry Park
April 21 & 22 Selling at Cave SpringFest Car Show
April 22  UDC Confederate Memorial Day Service - location to be determined
April 26  Confederate Memorial Day
April 27, 28 & 29 Civil War Living History encampment at Ft Norton
April 28 Confederate Memorial Day Service, 3 pm at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Past National Commander of the Sons of Confederate Veterans will be main speaker
April 28 Confederate Ball, 7:30 at The Palladium located at the Coosa Valley Fair Grounds see map

September Big Cedar Arts and Crafts Festival
October 2 thru 6 The Camp will recruit and sell at the Coosa Valley Fair

November 1 Camp meeting, 7:00 at the Senior Center beginning at 7 p.m. The center is located on Riverside Parkway.
November 11 Veteran's Day Service at Myrtle Hill Cemetery
November 27 Rome Christmas Parade
December 6 Camp meeting and President Jefferson Davis Memorial Celebration at the Riverside Parkway Senior Center, 7:00 PM. Covered dish supper. 2008 officers to be voted in. Main speaker, John Carruth, will speak on President Jefferson Davis.
December 8 Cave Spring Christmas parade, line-up at 4:00 PM at GSD Guard House, judging at 4:30, parade start at 5:30
