    The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 469 has ongoing programs which offer members a wide range of activities. Preservation work, marking Confederate soldiers' graves, Confederate Memorial Services, historical re-enactments, scholarly publications, and regular meetings to discuss the military and political history of the War Between the States are only a few of the activities sponsored by local camps. Mark your calendars now for the following upcoming events:

January 5 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
January 14 Lee-Jackson Dinner, 7:00 at the Etowah Park Senior Center beginning at 7 p.m. The center is located on Kingston Road next to the Homestead Restaurant (the rock restaurant). This is a covered dish, family affair so members, their family and friends are invited. Past Commander, Mike Ragland will be the guest speaker.
February 2 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
February 4 & 5 Chickamauga Southern National Civil War Show and Sale at the NW Georgia Trade and Convention Center in Dalton. Volunteers will be needed to assist with our booth on both days.
February 14 Living History at Cave Spring elementary school, 8:00 to 11:30
March 2 Camp meeting, Old Rome Waterworks building, 7:00 PM
April 1 Camp will be selling at the  Cave Spring Spring Fest, Cave Spring, GA from 9 AM to 5 PM. 
April 5 Will be installing display in front window of Rome Area History Museum in conjunction with Confederate History Month
April 6 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
April 7 & 8 Camp will participate in The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life at Ridge Ferry Park.
April 8 Dedication of Emma Sansom plaque by United Daughters of the Confederacy at plaza at Myrtle Hill cemetery at 3:00

Blue Pond Baptist Church, Morrison Campground Road, will be having a Confederate Memorial Service  in the church sanctuary at 3:00 p.m. The service will last approximately one hour and will include a special sermon by Bro. Mathew Ingram
April 15 Participation in Easter parade on Broad Street. Time to be given later
April 22 Living History outside the Rome Area History museum at 3:00. Confederate Ball at Civic Center at 7:00. Cancelled
April 23 Joint Confederate Memorial Service with the United Daughters of the Confederacy at 3:00 at Mt Pisgah Church 8 miles west of Rome on Highway 20
April 29 Joint Confederate Memorial Service with the United Daughters of the Confederacy at 3:00 at Ft Norton for tree dedication service
April 30 Confederate Memorial Service, 3:00 PM at Myrtle Hill Cemetery
May 4 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
May 7 Will present a Confederate Memorial Service, in conjunction with Cedartown SCV Camp # 77, at the Van Wert Baptist Church on April 16 at 3:00 
May 19, 20 & 21 Reenactment of the Battle of Resaca 
May 23 Living History at the International Inclusion Center in Dalton, GA on May 16th at 8:30 AM. The school is located at 803 E Morris St.
June 1 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
June 3 Rededication of monument to  Gen N B Forrest in Alabama on Highway 9 (20 in Georgia). Monument is located halfway between the Georgia state line and Cedar Bluff on the north side of the highway. Ceremony will start at 10:00 AM CDT.
June 16, 17, 18 109th Annual Reunion of the Georgia SCV Division, Gainesville, GA
July 6 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
July 16 Birthday celebration for Gen Nathan B Forrest to be held at Silver Creek United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM. Covered dish affair with hot dogs, hamburgers, watermelon and home made ice cream provided.
July 22 Confederate Memorial Service for the ancestor of Camp member John Harrison is set for July 22, 2006 at Woodbury, Georgia. Take US 27 south out of Rome to Carrollton, take US 27A south to Greenville. Take GA 18 nine miles to Woodbury. At the 4 way intersection take a left, go approximately 1 mile where you will see county parks equipment on the right side of the road. Cemetery is across the road on the left.  Memorial service at 11:00 AM, then convoy to LaGrange for covered dish dinner. (Postponed until further notice)

October 15 Music presentation at 1st Presbyterian Church, music by 8th Regiment Band and the Three Rivers Singers
October Gunboat battle on the Oostanaula River

November 28 Rome Christmas parade. Line-up at 6:00 - First Place
December 4 Summerville Christmas parade. Line-up at 6:00 at Chattooga High School
December 7 Camp meeting and President Jefferson Davis Memorial Celebration at the Riverside Parkway Senior Center, 7:00 PM. Covered dish supper. 2007 officers to be voted in.
