    The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 469 has ongoing programs which offer members a wide range of activities. Preservation work, marking Confederate soldiers' graves, Confederate Memorial Services, historical re-enactments, scholarly publications, and regular meetings to discuss the military and political history of the War Between the States are only a few of the activities sponsored by local camps. Mark your calendars now for the following upcoming events:

January 21 Lee-Jackson Dinner, 7:00 at the Waterfront Restaurant in Rome
February 3 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
February 4, 5 & 6 Civil War Relic Show, Dalton, GA
March 3 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
March 11 Visit to Rome by Ed Bearess and The Georgia Civil War Battlefield Preservation Organization
April 7 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
April 15 & 16 Camp participation in the American Cancer Society fundraiser "Relay for Life" at Ridge Ferry Park in Rome
April 17 Confederate Memorial Service for Cpl B F Moody, gggrandfather of Gary Worthan, to be held at Pray's Mill Baptist Church cemetery. From Rome, take 101 to Rockmart, then left onto 278 toward Dallas. Go about 5 miles, turn right onto 101 about 5 miles. In Yorkville, bear right onto 101, cross 120, go about 10 miles to 3-way stop. Turn right, cross R/R, cross Highway 78, cross I-20, then turn left onto I-20. Take 2nd exit to right onto Highway 5. The cemetery is located about 5 miles south of I-20 on Highway 5 in the Bill Arp Community, Douglasville, GA.
April 24 Confederate Memorial Service to be held at Myrtle Hill Cemetery at 3:00. Public is invited.
April 30 Georgia 1st Brigade Confederate Ball, 7:30, Rome Civic Center. 8th Georgia Regiment Band furnishing music. Civil War period dress or Sunday best. $20/person or $30/couple. Tickets at the door or through Adams Furniture, Broad St., Rome.
May 5 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
May 25 Living History for the Dalton, GA school system at Dalton Middle School at 8:30 AM
May 26 Living History for Pepperell Middle School at 8:30 AM
May 30 Memorial Day Parade in downtown Rome at 5:00
June 2 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
July 7 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
July 10 Gen Nathan B Forrest birthday celebration, July 10, 2:00 PM at Ridge Ferry Park. This will be a covered dish event. All Camp members, family and friends are invited, as is the public. 
July 13 Placing of wreath at Gen Nathan B Forrest monument at Myrtle Hill Cemetery at 10:00.
July 16 Yard sale at Rebecca Blaylock Nursery at 8:00
July 17 Clean-up at the old city waterworks at 2:00. Bring tools, gloves and muscle.
August 4 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
August 10 Mike Ragland and John Butler to present Confederate information on Talk of the Town with Nelle Reagan on WRGA
September 1 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
September 10 Motorcycle ride from Kingston to Tunnel Hill via Villanow. Registration will be from 9:00 to 9:30. (Cancelled)
Oct 4 thru 8 We will have a table and will be selling at the Coosa Valley Fair. There will be a CD available to look up Confederate ancestors.
October 6 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
October 14 Living History on Ft Norton
October 15 Confederate Ball at Forrest Hotel with 8th Regiment Band providing music and Tim Key as dancemaster.
October 29 Tour of Myrtle Hill Cemetery
November 3 Camp meeting will be at the old Rome waterworks plant, 7:00 PM
November 29 Rome Christmas Parade, line-up 5:30 PM at usual place - 1ST PLACE
December 1 Camp meeting, Adam's Furniture, 7:00 PM where we will observe the President Jefferson Davis Memorial Celebration. This will be a covered dish event. Public is invited.
December 1 Dalton Christmas Parade, line-up 5:00 PM at Waugh and Jones St - 1ST PLACE
December 2 Adairsville Christmas Parade, line-up 5:00 PM at elementary school bus parking lot on Halls Station Rd
December 3 Cave Spring Christmas Parade, line-up will be at 4:00 at the Georgia School for the Deaf guard house - cancelled
December 5 Summerville Christmas Parade, line-up 6:00 PM at Chattooga High School - 2ND PLACE
December 8 Calhoun Christmas Parade, line-up 6:30 PM on N Wall St between Line St and Redbud Rd
December 10 Chickamauga Christmas Parade, line-up will be 6:00 PM at Gordon Lee High School
