    The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 469 has ongoing programs which offer members a wide range of activities. Preservation work, marking Confederate soldiers' graves, Confederate Memorial Services, historical re-enactments, scholarly publications, and regular meetings to discuss the military and political history of the War Between the States are only a few of the activities sponsored by local camps. Mark your calendars now for the following upcoming events:

 

January 8 Camp meeting, Adams Furniture, 7:00 PM
January 17 Lee-Jackson Dinner, 7:00 at Provino's Restaurant in Rome
February 5 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
March 4 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM - Business Meeting only
April 1 Camp meeting, Adams Furniture, 7:00 PM
April 4 Camp photograph to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 469 in Rome, GA to take place at Myrtle Hill Cemetery at 3:00 PM. Clyde Collier in charge. Uniform or Sunday suit proper attire. SCV pins, ties, medals and ribbons recommended. 8X10 photos for $10, with identifying names on reverse, will be available at subsequent meetings.
April 24 Confederate Ball at 7:00 in Rome at Heritage Hall located at the corner of Glen Milner and E 3rd Ave. John Carruth will conduct the 8th Regiment Band.
April 25 Confederate Memorial Service to be held at Myrtle Hill Cemetery at 3:00. Speaker to be announced.
May 6 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
June 3 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
June 11-13 Georgia Division's 107th Reunion at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center in Dalton, Georgia.
July 1 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
July 28 ~ 31 SCV National Convention to be held at Northwest Georgia Convention and Trade Center in Dalton.
August 5 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
September 2 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
October 7 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
October 10 Confederate Memorial Service for Andrew Ripley McEver at 3:00 at Mt Zion Cemetery in White, GA. From the Cass-White exit on I-75, go east 1.2 miles toward White, then turn left onto Mt Zion road (there may not be a road sign, but there will be a detour sign). Mt Zion Cemetery is very small and will be 1 mile on the left.
November 4 Camp meeting, Rome-Floyd Co Library, 7:00 PM
December 2 In lieu of a Camp meeting, the Camp will observe its Jefferson Davis Memorial at Adams Furniture at 7:00 PM. As with the Gen Nathan Bedford Forrest Birthday Celebration, this will be a covered dish affair. Family and friends are invited.
December 6 Christmas parade at 6:00 in Chickamauga
December 11 Christmas parade in Calhoun. Time to be announced.
To be announced Camp to assist in river clean-up at the confluence of the Etowah, Oostanaula and Coosa Rivers.
