NEXT MEETING The next Camp meeting will be Thursday, October 2, at 7:00 at the library. The main speaker will be our own Dr Gary Roseman. Gary will speak on The Difference Between the Distribution of Wealth in 1860 and The Distribution of Wealth in 1866 in Floyd County, GA. Among the things to be discussed will be:
Between the Living Histories, Confederate Memorial Services and the Christmas float, our Camp has a busy schedule planned for this Fall. Also, don't forget that raffle tickets for the 3-band Enfield Rifle are still on sale. If you wish to buy or sell tickets, then can be picked up at the next meeting. Tickets for the Confederate ball next April 24 should be ready by the next Camp meeting. It should also be noted that 2004 dues of $35 can now be paid. The $3 increase is to help pay for the ante-bellum SCV headquarters house in Forsyth, GA. UPCOMING EVENTS October 5 Confederate Memorial Service for Pvt Reddick Perry at Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church at 3:00 PM. The church is located about 4 blocks west of Coosa High School October 11 The Motorcycle Heritage Ride & Black Powder Shoot. During the Black Powder Shoot the rifle will be raffled off October 14 Living History at Garden lakes Middle School located 6 blocks past Coosa High School on the left. Alto Park and Cave Spring Middle schools will also attend. Set-up will begin at 8:00. This will be a large event and we will need as much help as possible October 18 Living History and parade at Mentone, AL for their Heritage Day October 19 Living History and Confederate Memorial Service at 2:00 at Mentone, AL commemorating the Alabama 19th October 21 Living History at Pepperell Middle School located south of Lindale, cross Booze Mtn Rd, right at next light, will be the lower school. Set-up will begin at 8:00. This is a large school so, like Coosa, we will need as much help as possible October 26 Confederate Memorial Service for the Confederate ancestors of Genese Shelly, wife of Wayne Shelly, at Mizpah United Methodist Church on Kingston Road April 16 & 17 Charleston, SC.
